PA Governor Corbett as much to blame as anybody in Penn State scandal?

Post by Tater Salad on Thu Nov 17, 2011 9:38 am

Seems he was Pennsylvania's attorney general at the time the state investigation started. Many local political observers were under the impression that he was so busy, as Attorney General, prosecuting/investigating possible alleged minor wrongdoing by democratic lawmakers, while running for governor (a serious conflict of interest, perhaps?), that many now think he was dragging his feet on investigating the "child sex" allegations. There are numerous connections between himself, Penn State, and the charity involved with Sandusky, some of which may also involve conflicts of interests.

I predicted a couple of nights ago that our governor was involved in this case, since he was the PA attorney general at the time this was originally investigated. Yet he had the nerve to hold a press conference last week, after 3 days of absolute silence on the issue, blaming just about everybody else and his mother....Can you tell I never liked this guy, always thought he was corrupt...ya know he has taken massive campaign contributions from the natural gas industry, and now as governor, has refused to allow any kind of tax on the fracking industry that is literally undermining Pennsylvania?
Apparently we didn't learn anything from 150 years of the coal barons raping our land and leaving millions of acres of baron, polluted, dead land, as well as hundreds of thousands of coal miners unprotected from black lung disease. They gave us a lot of empty promises about how the strip mines would eventually be turned into beautiful state parks, and told us that the claims of environmentalists hollering about pollution and health problems were totally baseless...

And then there's Waste Management, formerly advised by...you guessed it, Tom Corbett, polluting our lands while driving every other waste contractor to bankruptcy, winning low ball contracts all over the state, creating massive landfills which they claim are GOOD for the environment (huh?), including one within site (and smell) of William Penn's (Billy Penn to us Phildelphyuns) estate!

God how I just love politics!

Any updates on this one? I tend to see history repeating itself here... as usual.
