Jaáj , they are about the size of cherries ,or a little smaller, also have one pip in them, totally different texture and taste though.

Ah. That's about the size I was guessing.
I bet the birds love them! They surely love cherries.
The little rats.

LOL jaáj, I't's an enormous tree, and I only use what I can reach, a very small percentage, the birds can have the rest of them, but do they appreciate that ?? no ... they need to take one bite out of as many as possible !
If I didn't like birds ...grrrr....

I got a notice too.. for two topics and neither is new.
I don't know.. maybe someone is trying to tell us something?

It seems that every time I work on this site, new notices with old topics show up.
But.. I'm now going to go look up those Lilly Pilly berries.

Finally ,got here  dance smiley , have been unable to get here and Y/A lately, just manage to squeeze in on odd occasions.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

this is the Lilly Pilly in the front yard ,enormous tree ,the fruits are not sweet, have an unusual taste, I like them, and they do make lovely jam.The last few years they have been very small, due to lack of rain, also the bottom branches have been trimmed and I can't reach them anyway.

Roxanna, you might have to invest in a long handled tool to help pick those berries!! OR... climb the tree! lol
After finding out where they grow,it explained a lot as to why I had never heard of them. I was trying to figure out how well one would grow here, but think it might not grow well at all since we get such cold weather and snow.

..one more thing about Lilly pilly ,they are a nuisance in the yard and should be grown in the open somewhere, the tree is to big, new ones come up wherever they fall, and the have a strong taproot if you don't pick them out straight away, but they do attract the birds  dance smiley  ,who then shit purple stuff all over your car  Mad  !
there are dwarf varieties which would be better in the suburbs.
