Is cursive writing soon to be a lost art?

Post by Breezey Breezey on Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:33 pm

As I understand it, even schools are not teaching cursive writing to students
anymore.

I was really never great at cursive handwritting
So when I got to 4th grade they let me print
but I did learn and feel kids should learn
if only that learning to write can also help some to spell and read

Of course I learned to read at 3  phonetically and didn't master writing until 5 0r 6
by master I mean write groups of sentences....I could write single words and my name
at around 4

...lol....and I still struggle with spelling

Well... ya did good! lol
To be honest, I don't see how anyone can "NOT" have problems with spelling... the whole thing is messed up. "sound it out"... ever have people tell you that and then... tell you it's not the way it looks?

I remember when learning to drive was actually a course at school. Seems to me they take away things like driving and writing and keep more sports and such.

Not the way it looks...Yes...that is what was hard about spelling.....and easy about reading

The words that rhyme ......but are not spelled the same

But why do they call it cursive, when it has nothing to do with curses? thinking
