If life is just a game, than suicide is just a player not interested in finishing the game?

If life is just a game, than suicide is just a player not interested in finishing the game?

Post by Breezey Breezey on Wed May 07, 2014 12:00 pm

Should suicide be an option to anyone who doesn't like how life is going?
Should laws be able to tell people they HAVE to live and that suicide is illegal?

And what kind of person commits suicide in front of the significant other and kids?

I think that the majority of people who commit suicide are in such a deep state of depression that they cannot see any other way to relieve the pain they are feeling. And yes, truly clinical depression is very similar to chronic physical pain that the person experiencing it cannot find any relief from.

Approximately two months ago, a man committed suicide and made sure his children and mate were there to see.
I think that is a true act of a coward. It is bad enough to leave a family with all the problems of a suicide, but to make a party of it... that is so selfish because the man evidently didn't want to do it alone.
From two cases of suicide that I actually know the people, both were selfish and made many of their own problems by not trying to change how they were and treated others.
The two families.. and their lives..so much alike... the men too. It makes you wonder if there is a TYPE that is more likely to use suicide as a way of fixing all their problems.

Well that is just beyond sad. Hard to imagine what is going through someone's mind when they do something like that.

On one hand, at least he didn't try to take them with him (something else I truly can't understand), but on the other hand, he left all of them with scars that will never totally heal.

Exactly. I wonder why.. is it those who are more selfish in life that are selfish in death?

Whatever the reasons its always very sad
BUT
we recently had a case in UK which may change your perspective. This was a guy who had locked in syndrome. Nothing wrong with his mind, perception, or reasoning, but completely paralised. The only way he could communicate was with a speech synthesiser, or by moving his eyes. He was always in a lot of pain and was acutely aware of the tremendous burden he was on his family. He wanted to commit suicide but was totally unable to accomplish himself. He wouldn't allow his family to help as this would have resulted in their prosecution.

Could I have showed such bravery if I had been in his situation. I wonder?
