Ummm... I don't know how tall the trees are... seven, eight or so... feet?
The fruit is the size you see... for now?

Are the fruits the size of grapes, or plums...?

Re: What are these trees....

At this time....they would be really hefty grapes. They turn purple, but don't remind me of plums, as far as how they look inside and how they feel... and don't plums get a lot bigger?
I tried looking them up... Japanese and English plums look something like them...yet... I don't know what they're supposed to look like inside or anything.
And I'm wondering if they have an actual use.

I don't think plums grow in bunches like that. They look vaguely familiar, but I really don't have a good idea of what they are.

Could they possibly be juneberries? They are native to Wisconsin...

I never thought of plums as small, hard and starting out green.. but that seems to be what they might be...

Some plums remain green even when ripe (i.e. greengage plums), put I didn't think they grew in bunches like grapes, like your pics show; I was under the impression they grew more like peaches, in groups of 2 or 3 or even solo, but then, I've been wrong before...

They look like King Billy Plum trees to me. You have to have two different varieties of plum trees for the bees to pollinate and for the trees to set fruit. One by itself will not fruit unless there is it's mate living in your neighbourhood where the bees do not have far to travel to pollinate both.
I can picture you making Plum jam, Plum pie, Plum sauce, etc. Enjoy. (-:

Trees do have labels Breezey.. when you buy them.. lol. The only way I know it looks like a King Billy plum tree is because we had one on the farm that we planted.. and because I kept the tags and checked them out when they fruited. ..... After that.. the bees will know.. lol. (-:
Ps.. we have a wonderful gardening book.. if in doubt, we look it up. The hours we spend finding it sometimes, we could have just enjoyed eating the plums.

As Lorry says. My garden is full of plastic labels of which there is a good selection. The ones on some of the trees have faded but can still be helpful. I don't think the bees bother to read them. They are more interested in the flowers.

The most important thing to know about a tree when you plant it is which way up it goes!

As you may know I grow a few orchids. To keep them warm/moist I cover the pots with foodwrap plastic film (clingfilm here). It's also a good idea if you're going away for a few days. It works well for germinating seeds but it may need removing when the tender shoots appear to prevent rot. I've started soaking the seeds in water before I plant them as well, it ups the success rate!
