Stuffing or dressing?

Stuffing or dressing?

Post by Breezey Breezey on Sun Mar 27, 2016 1:58 pm

It seems people have a difference of opinion on what each is and why.
So, to you, what is the difference between stuffing and dressing?
Does it have anything to do with ingredients used, purpose for it, how it's made or even where you live in the world?

Here, we've always called it stuffing, even if we aren't 'stuffing' anything. I really think it's the same thing regardless of whether it's called stuffing or dressing.

I was once told it's stuffing when you stuff the turkey, but others disagree with that too!

Stuffing here is when you stuff the turkey or the chook.. Dressing is what you put on top of salad etc.

We call that dressing too, Lorry, but I guess some people call stuffing 'dressing' because you dress the turkey with it, sort of.

By the time the turkey is ready to be "dressed"... it's stuffed.

It's okay. I realize Taters are better at seeing than hearing since they have more eyes than ears... hence your listening problem.  therethere
