"Drinking with an Arizona girl"

Post by Ja'aj on Mon May 10, 2010 8:50 pm

(Feel free to subsitute any border state for Arizona... )
A friend sent this to me just now.
I think it's funny - it's not especially "accurate" -
but it is funny.

A Mexican, an Arab, and an Arizona girl are in the same bar.

Whenthe Mexican finishes his beer, he throws his glass in the air, pulls out his pistol, and shoots the glass to pieces. He says,'In Mexico, our glasses are so cheap we don't need to drink with the same one twice.'

The Arab, obviously impressed by this, drinks non-alcohol beer ('cuz he's
a Muslim), throws it into the air, pulls out his AK-47, and shoots the glass
to pieces. He says, 'In the Arab World, we have so much sand to make glasses
that we don't need to drink with the same one twice either.'
>
The Arizona girl, cool as a cucumber, picks up her beer, downs it in one gulp, throws the glass into the air, whips out her 45, and shoots the Mexican and the Arab.

Catching her glass, setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill, she says,
'In Arizona, we have so many illegal aliens that we don't have to drink
with the same ones twice.'

God Bless Arizona ! "

Yeah, baby! };>

Seriously ...
It isn't "illegal aliens" per se -
Mexican or any other variety.
I don't want to live in Mexico;
I see no reason Mexicans should want to live there either.

It IS that Arizona has our own lowlife, bad-ass,
low-rent, nauseatingly despicable, little-imagination, boatload-of-vicious, crazies and thugs.
We do not need anyone else's.

"Our" new "law" not withstanding -
You will all please notice that -until Mexico's freakin'
GANG (and there is only ONE...)
began crossing our border with impunity -
no one cared about "illegal" - except the INS -
and they didn't seem overly concerned.

HOPEFULLY... that stupid damned law will be found
to be unconstitutional !

More to the point, mabe now the
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!! will get off it's backside
and DO THE JOB THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO.
Come on, people; it's in WRITING...!
AND... you (the Feds!) are only ! about 10 or 11
YEARS behind .

If we are talking about the same law, many seem to like it and are hoping more states will follow it.

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in front of the
Arizona State Capitol after Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the
nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration into law on Friday. Its
aim is to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants.

The law, which proponents and critics alike said
was the broadest and strictest immigration measure in generations,
would make the failure to carry immigration documents a crime and give
the police broad power to detain anyone suspected of being in the
country illegally. Opponents have called it an open invitation for
harassment and discrimination against Hispanics regardless of their
citizenship status.

I try to see it from both sides, but have a hard time with making people carry papers at all times. Not sure how it all works, but what about the ones who were born here and legally belong here? Will they need papers too to prove they DO belong here?

What's on my mind goes back a lot further than this, but... let's leave it at how amazed I am that "Americans" seem to have become so full of themselves that taking land from Indians was justified and it's going to be protected at ALL costs.

Is this new law saying it's okay to walk all over the rights of some people to do what others feel is needed?

Breezey, that's exactly what the problem is. There are many legal Mexican immigrants as well as Mexican Americans who happen to look a lot like, well, Mexicans! So how do you tell if somebody is in the country legally or not? It's apparently left to a judgment call for a law official to decide whether they have reason to believe that somebody may be an illegal immigrant.

Judgment calls of law officials... the ones who love to push their weight around and go way over bounds on how they treat people?
I can just imagine how this will be!

I have specifically avoided reading this "law"...
what I know of it has made me furious. I see no reason
to read it in it's entirety and be berserk.
It says that cops -who have a prior VALID
(like that will be a problem) reason for stopping
someone may then ask for proof of legal presence
in this country.
I doubt that too many blond, blue-eyed, accentless
people will be asked.
The "law" is not much more than than a
(temporarily, I hope!) legal way
to racially-profile people with dark hair and eyes and
brown skin.
I'm HOPING that the main purpose of this disgusting
"law" is to FORCE the FEDSi to do their! job.
More and more, living here n the U.S. is becoming
like living in pre-WWII Europe.
I don't want it. I don't know of anyone who does.
I am entirely fed up with the whole damned thing.

I have reached a point where I'm for closing the
borders. ALL of them.
I am also reaching the point where I'm for voting
OUT! OUT! OUT! anyone who is currently employed
in government. Any branch. Any location.
ANYone.
Good guys, unknown guys,, bad guys, ALL guys.
Get a turnover rate so that none of them can do
much harm.
The fact that it will also prevent any of them from doing much good doesn't seem like a big risk.

A prior VALID reason... I have heard some VALID reasons that stink a whole lot!
What is the definition of valid that all will go by?
